At least it'll keep them afloat. May help the updates roll out a little quicker, too. |

Remember that report someone came up with.... only 5% of players buy into RMT.
5% of nothing = nothing, seems like a waste of resources to me. |

I tend to agree Ef. I think Turbine is showing the way for small or Indie based games: no sub with RMT. At least get people playing the game first. |

They've kept afloat until now. Obviously someone's playing this. So they're certainly not going to lose money here. |

You're right, they're not losing money.... they're hemorrhaging it.
This is a very, very poor decision, they haven't got enough subs because the game just isn't very good. Adding RMT items (taking resources away from improving the core game) is a terrible decision. They've got a few thousand very dedicated players, they should be rewarding them by improving the game and trying to bring new players in, instead they're asking their very dedicated, very loyal fanbase to bankroll their fuck up. Utterly pathetic. |

This isn't taking any real resources away from the game. This isn't an involved system like DDO's got. One guy probably set it up. Plus, yeah, the game sucks but people insist on playing it anyway. This isn't going to scare them away. There's nothing they can really do to appeal to a large audience at this point anyway, other than come up with the cash to keep rolling out updates. Maybe if the game's decent in a few years, a few more people will check it out but... they really don't have too many other options here. |
